Museum Dar El Hout

Address: 28, rue du 2 Mars, Carthage - Salambo

The history of the Oceanographic Museum of Salammbo "Dar EL Hout" date from the early 20th century. It was built in 1924 on a site described as one of the most beautiful and Tunisian symbolic sites: one in which lie the ruins of what was in the ancient Carthage, the palace of the Sea Suffet. Thus this place of history and science will continue to open in the direction of
National Maritime Heritage Conservation and progress of research and knowledge.

Opening Hours

The center is Open daily (except Monday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (during winter) and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (during summer). During Ramadan 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is usually closed in the second half of September.
