Taxi service in Tunisia is operated by private companies and individuals doing business as the self-employers.
Official taxis are in yellow color with a white shield on the roof where is the red identification number of the taxi. Most taxis are an older date of manufacture, and often very dirty. Few companies provide on-call taxis.

Taxi tariff varied by daytime, driven distance, number of baggage and if taxi was on-call. The taxi counter is initialised to 0.45 TND (Since August 2013). For on-call taxi is neccessary to add 3 - 4 TND. Typical distance prices are below.
